Executive Director

Ryan Stowers serves as executive director of the Charles Koch Foundation, a nonpartisan philanthropy that supports students, faculty, and innovators in the pursuit of scholarly work that advances equal rights, free expression, economic potential, and entrepreneurial approaches to the pressing issues of our time. Through the Foundation’s work, Stowers and his colleagues seek to help individuals discover, develop, and apply their unique talents, empowering them to succeed by helping others.

CKF has funded nearly 1,000 faculty members and 400 programs at roughly 300 colleges and universities across the country. Stowers oversees these efforts for the Foundation and works with business leaders and fellow donors to enhance philanthropy for postsecondary education.

Stowers has been a leader at CKF over the past 15 years, all the while advancing the impact of education in the United States. Before joining the Foundation, he worked for the nonpartisan American Enterprise Institute after earning his bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in political economy from Utah State University. Stowers serves on the boards of directors of the Bill of Rights Institute and the Institute for Humane Studies, as well as the national advisory boards for the John M. Huntsman School of Business at his alma mater and the Woodbury School of Business at Utah Valley University.
