Dissertation Grants

Dissertation Grants

Dissertation research grants of up to $5,000 support current graduate students whose scholarship focuses on free societies and the ideas, institutions, and values that contribute to maximizing well-being.

The Charles Koch Foundation is accepting research grant proposals from current doctoral students who are writing dissertations that investigate how we can move toward a society of equal rights and mutual benefit where people succeed by helping others. Proposals will be considered for dissertations across a variety of disciplines that examine foundational, system-level, and applied research questions.

Accepted dissertation proposals may be awarded up to $5,000 in grant funding, with the possibility of renewal, as well as additional resources to expand doctoral candidates’ educational opportunities and career development.

Notification Process

All prospective grantees will be notified of the outcome of the grant evaluation process. The Foundation’s goal with every proposal is to communicate decisions as quickly as possible.
