Issue Areas

We care about the issues that impact your life. The importance of free expression. Financial and national security. How people can best live and work together. The ability to choose what’s best for you and your family. That’s why we support education and research on the challenges that face us all.

Our Focus

The Charles Koch Foundation provides grants for research and scholarship on issues that affect people’s ability to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Issues that we’re particularly interested in addressing include criminal justice and policing reform, toleration and free speech, foreign policy, technology and innovation, K–12 education, and barriers to opportunity such as corporate welfare and occupational licensure.

We support research on pressing issues.

Criminal Justice & Policing Reform

We support research that emphasizes human dignity and enhances public safety, with a particular focus on reducing overcriminalization, recidivism, and barriers to second chances for ex-offenders.
