Jon Franklin

Jon Franklin is the Vice President of Strategy at the Charles Koch Foundation, where he works with a team of analysts and grant officers to develop and apply strategies that advance the Foundation’s vision. Prior to joining the Foundation, Franklin studied U.S. business and economic history at the University of Maryland. His research culminated in the publication of A History of Professional Economists and Policymaking in the United States: Irrelevant Genius (2016), which explores the emergence of economics as a professional discipline and its influence on public policymaking in the 20th century. He earned a PhD in history from the University of Maryland and a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of Minnesota.
