Applying for Grants

Please visit our grant spotlight pages for examples of our giving to higher education, research, and professional education programs.

Interested in a grant? Submitting an online grant proposal is the best way to find out if your organization and/or project request is a good match with the goals of the Charles Koch Foundation in furthering a free society.

All initial grant proposals are examined to ensure they meet internal grant guidelines. If a proposal meets the initial requirements, it is reviewed to assess whether it fits within the Foundation’s priorities. In the course of this evaluation, you may be contacted for further information.

The Foundation regrets that although it receives numerous worthwhile proposals, it can only support a limited number of organizations.

All prospective grantees will be notified of the outcome of the grant evaluation process. Our goal with every proposal is to arrive at, and to communicate, decisions in a timely manner so that prospective grantees know where they stand. Please allow up to three months for the review of submitted materials and a response from the Foundation.
