Applying for Grants

The advancement of economic freedom is essential to prosperity in society, and the Foundation supports many organizations and institutions that work to further the ideas of liberty.

To see examples of grants, please visit our grant spotlight pages for examples of our giving to higher educationresearch, and professional education programs.

Interested in a grant? Submitting an online grant proposal is an efficient way to find out if your organization and/or project request is a good match with the goals of the Charles Koch Foundation in furthering a free society.

All initial grant proposals are examined to ensure they meet internal grant guidelines. If a proposal meets the initial requirements, it is reviewed to assess whether it fits within the Foundation’s priorities. In the course of this evaluation, you may be contacted for further information.

The Foundation regrets that while it receives numerous worthwhile proposals, it can only support a limited number of organizations. Please review the Our Giving page for examples of funded grants. Organizations that are interested in receiving grant funding from the Foundation may submit a proposal online here.

All prospective grantees will be notified of the outcome of the grant evaluation process. Our goal with every proposal is to arrive at, and to communicate, decisions in a timely manner so that prospective grantees know where they stand. Please allow up to three months for the review of submitted materials and a response from the Foundation.
